Using Colour With Intention In Your Life (cont'd)
So, on the first page, we covered some basic information on what colour therapy is all about in relation to our chakra energy centres with an example shown in the diagram on the right.
There are simple ways in which we can help ourselves more in our daily life by consciously wearing a specific colour. In order for us to understand this, we need some further information on each colour.

Blue - Throat Chakra - complementary colour - orange
Blue is about communication. It's colour often represents authority. Police uniforms etc. If we need to communicate with authority, this is the ideal colour choice. However, with authority can come the not so attractive trait of dominance. So to prevent overbearing attitudes, the complementary colour of orange may be needed, with its aspects of joy & wisdom, to tone down that forceful approach. It is also the colour of peace & trust, whereby it can help us connect with our higher self & be able to trust the process of life...that all is as it should be.
Indigo - Brow or 3rd Eye Chakra - complementary colour - gold
Indigo connects us with our unconscious thought. An attraction to indigo can often represent a strong intuitive or "psychic" ability. Too much indigo may indicate depression. With the addition of its complementary colour of gold, a blend of orange & yellow, we can reconnect with wisdom & joy to find that sunny disposition lurking in the shadows.
Violet - Crown Chakra - complementary colour - yellow
Violet is a healing colour, also known as "the healer's" colour. It has the amazing capacity of

transmuting/changing negative thoughts & feelings to a more positive view.It is strengthening & awakening. It is no co-incidence that people going through any grieving process may be attracted to this colour. They are unconsciously trying to heal & strengthen themselves. Bringing in the complementary colour, yellow will be useful, to awaken & find the joy in life once again.
Magenta - Higher Crown Chakra - complementary colour - olive green
Magenta represents a heightened link with our spirituality, so much so, we can trust & let go of control. Sometimes when we are pushing ourselves, striving & obsessing to pigeon-hole & control all aspects of our lives, we miss out on what is really going on around us. Magenta is the colour for meditation, finding time to seek that inner quiet & space to look within. It's complementary colour olive green enhances that capacity for finding our quiet space. It also helps us to become more aware of our own potential & power to love & to create our personal h(e)aven.
Black & White
Both these colours contain the full spectrum of the rainbow of colours. The difference is black is hiding all colours. It is all colours without light. Anyone attracted to black shows a need to feel protected & safe. They are also "hiding their true colours" not only from others, but to themselves. They fear their own power! It's often interesting to see what accessories are used with black clothing, in order to see what hint of their aspect they are actually prepared to show to us! With white clothing, we are reflecting purity, clarity, cleanliness, enlightenment & perfection. Again it's worthwhile checking the accessories...which colour/aspect of ourselves do we wish to project & reflect the most?
